ORKHAN HUSEYNOV View work
Orkhan Huseynov creates work that is both playful and peculiar in a variety of media, including video, computer prints and plastic sculptures. With plexiglass and computer imaging he creates child-like images that at first seem innocuous but may refer to oil wealth, political power, religion or space travel. His works are united by their celebration of Azeri customs and history. Orkhan Huseynov graduated from the Azimzadeh State Art College (1995) and the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (1999), before going on to complete his Master’s degree at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Art in Baku. He represented Azerbaijan at the 52nd Venice Biennale in 2007. Select exhibitions include Fly To Baku, London, Paris, Berlin, Moscow, Rome (2012–2013), Commonist YARAT Contemporary Art Space, Baku, Azerbaijan and Merging Bridges, Museum of Modern Art, Baku, Azerbajian (2012). Huseynov lives and works in Baku, Azerbaijan.
